<biochemistry> A urine test which measures the amount of 17-hydroxycorticosteroids. A fraction of cortisol is metabolised to 17-hydroxycorticosteroids and excreted in the urine.
Conditions that result in increased serum cortisol (Cushing's syndrome and Cushing's disease) will result in elevations in 17-hydroxycorticosteroid levels in the urine.
