<biochemistry> Transfer of glucose residues, usually from the nucleotide sugar derivative UDPG.

Enzymic glucosylation to generate the glucosyl galactosyl disaccharide on the hydroxylysine of collagen is a normal process. A recent theory suggests that glucosylation of certain long lived proteins by a nonenzymic reaction with free glucose may contribute to ageing.
