A combination antibiotic drug effective at preventing and treating PCP pneumonia. May also be effective against toxoplasmosis and bacterial infections. Possible side effects include skin rash (which on rare occasions spreads to other body surfaces and becomes life-threatening Stevens-Johnson syndrome), digestive disturbances, bone marrow suppression and liver impairment.
